Analysis of current status of pre-diabetes in the population over 35 years in Shanghai
Objective:To investigate the prevalence of pre-diabetes in the population over 35 years old and analyze the related influence factors in Shanghai.Methods:The monitoring data of chronic diseases and the risk factors in Shanghai was used to collect the data from questionnaire,physical measurement and laboratory tests,and 14 940 residents over 35 years old who met the criteria were finally included as the research objects.Results:The prevalence of pre-diabetes in the population over 35 years old was 23.19%(standardization rate was 20.03%),among them,the prevalence of impaired fasting glucose regulation(IFG)was 6.43%(standardization rate was 6.19%)and the prevalence of impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)was 16.76%(standardization rate was 13.84%).The unconditional logistic regression analysis indicated that age,residence in rural and urban areas,history of hypertension,overweight and obesity,central obesity and abnormal total cholesterol were the risk factors of pre-diabetes.Conclusion:The prevalence of pre-diabetes in the residents over 35 years in Shanghai is at a high level and prevention and control should be conducted well based on relevant risk factors.
