Study of the effect of the whole-process management mode of assistive devices on the activities of daily living of physically disabled people
Objective:To explore the effect of the whole process management mode of assistive devices on the activities of daily living of physically disabled people in the community,and to provide a basis for carrying out community rehabilitation intervention and assistive device adaptation for disabled people.Methods:From July 2021,physical disabled people who had the need for assistive devices(with the application for registration of assistive devices)and to February 2023 had been equipped with assistive devices for at least one year in Jiading Town and Juyuan New Area were selected as the survey objects.There were 140 people with disabilities in Jiading Town as the intervention group(69 males and 71 females)and 142 people with disabilities in Juyuan New Area as the control group(70 males and 72 females).The control group underwent routine assistive device adaptation process,and the intervention group implemented the whole process management mode of assistive devices on the basis of routine assistive device adaptation process.Their activities of daily living ability in the two groups were assessed.Results:After intervention,the MBI score in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group[96(77 100)vs 89(73 100)],and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The whole-process management mode of assistive devices can improve the activities of daily living of physically disabled people with assistive devices.
