The effect of different skin flaps on the operation time and oral function index of oral and maxillofacial defects after tumor surgery
Objective:To analyze the effect of different skin flaps in the treatment of oral and maxillofacial defects after tumor surgery.Methods:Fifty-eight patients with postoperative defects of oral and maxillofacial tumors were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group with 29 patients each.Flap repair surgery was performed in both groups, the control group selected flap at the position of pectoralis major muscle, while the observation group selected anterolateral femoral flap.and the effect of the flap in different parts was compared. Results:The total incidence of complication was lower;the times for operation, gastric tube removal, transoral feeding, and flap healing were shorter;the time for flap fabrication + microscopic anastomosis was longer;and the scores of shape repair, normal feeding, oral opening and closing function, oral water holding test, normal swallowing, masticatory function, verbal expression ability, and normal occlusion function, and the flap viability and satisfaction of repair were higher in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The results of postoperative flap repair for patients with oral and maxillofacial tumors varied among different flap repair procedures, and the anterolateral femoral flap was relatively more advantageous than the flap at the position of pectoralis major muscle, which could shorten the operative time, improve the oral function, and provide a higher degree of safety and patient satisfaction.
