Effect of thunder fire moxibustion combined with Yishentonglin formula on recurrent urinary tract infection in elderly women in the community
Objective:To observe the effect of thunder fire moxibustion combined with Yishentonglin formula in the treatment of recurrent urinary tract infection(RUTI)in the elderly female patients in the community.Methods:One hundred and twenty female patients with recurrent urinary tract infection were selected from August 2021 to March 2023,and divided into two groups randomly.The data information of the intervention group with 57 cases and the control group with 59 cases were collected finally.Two groups were treated with sufficient amount of sensitive antibiotics based on the results of midstream urine culture and observed after mitigation.The control group was given low dose antibacterial therapy,one single dose antibiotics once a day,and according to the real situation the dosage was adjusted.On the base of the control group,the treatment group took Yishentonglin formula and added with thunder fire moxibustion treatment three times a week for twelve weeks.Changes in various indicators of efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome integral scoring,the scores of urinary routine(levels of white blood cells and red blood cells in urine),anxiety(SAS),depression(SDS)and other indexes before and after treatment were analyzed.Results:The treatment group was better than the control group in improving TCM syndromes(P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in urinary white blood cells and urinary red blood cells between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment the urine white blood cell count in the intervention group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.001);after treatment,there was no significant difference in urine erythrocyte count between the two groups(P>0.05).The scores of SAS and SDS in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group(P>0.05).After 3 months of treatment,the recurrence rate in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of thunder fire moxibustion and Yishentonglin formula has positive effect in improving clinical symptoms,mental health and recurrence rate of elderly women with recurrent urinary tract infection in the community.
