Analysis of the status quo and influencing factors of teenagers attempting to smoke in Minhang District in 2021
Objective:To investigate the status quo and influencing factors of teenagers attempting to smoke in Minhang District,and to provide scientific basis for targeted tobacco control measures.Methods:A total of 730 students from 6 schools in Minhang District of Shanghai were selected for questionnaires survey by multi-stage stratified cluster sampling,729 valid questionnaires were collected,among them there were 374 boys,accounting for 51.30%and 355 girls,accounting for 48.70%;the numbers of the students from the junior high schools,senior high schools and professional schools were 366,232 and 131,respectively.Results:The rate of teenagers attempting to smoke in Minhang District was 2.88%.The rate of boys attempting to smoke was higher than that of girls,and the difference was statistically significant(4.55%vs 1.13%,P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that men(OR=3.193,95%CI:1.010-10.090),friends who smoked(OR=5.347,95%CI:1.907-14.988),people who smoked in the past 7 days in schools(OR=5.025,95%CI:1.103-22.907)and people who smoked while riding public transportation in the past 7 days(OR=6.036,95%CI:1.587-22.961)were risk factors for attempting smoking behavior.Conclusion:The rate of teenagers attempting to smoke in Minhang District,Shanghai is lower than that in the other places in China,which shows that the tobacco control work of teenagers in Minhang District has achieved some results,but it is still necessary to strengthen the tobacco control efforts,and it still requires the school,family,and society tripartite linkage to create a good family,campus and social environment to guide teenagers away from the harm of tobacco.
