Divergent extracorporeal shock wave combined with microwave in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis
Objective:To investigate the effect of divergent extracorporeal shock wave(rESWT)combined with microwave in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis(SP).Methods:A total of 40 patients with SP were selected in Hongmei Community Health Service Center of Xuhui District,Shanghai from July 2022 to Oct.2023,and randomly divided into a microwave group and a combination group with 20 cases in each group.The microwave group was given microwave irradiation treatment,power 60-80 W,continuous irradiation for 20 minutes,once every other day,3 days per week,and the treatment course was 30 days.The patients in the combination group were treated with rESWT combined with microwave irradiation.The microwave treatment was the same as the microwave group,and rESWT was given once a week,2000 pulses per time,for a total of 4 times.Short-form McGill pain questionnaire(SF-MPQ)and Constant-Murley score(CMS)were used to evaluate the patients in the two groups on the 7th,14th and 30th days of treatment.Results:After treatment,SF-MPQ,and CMS scores in the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05).After treatment on the 7th and 14th days,SF-MPQ scores in the combination group were(23.35±4.22)and(14.50±5.69),respectively,which were lower than those in the microwave group(27.15±3.73)and(19.05±4.07)(P＜0.01),and there was no significant difference in SF-MPQ score between the two groups on the 30th day after treatment(P＞0.05).On the 7th,14th and 30th days after treatment,the CMS scores in the combination group were(59.30±8.20),(77.35±9.29),and(88.65±6.70),respectively,which were higher than those in the microwave group(50.60±8.77)and(67.95±9.53)and(83.35±6.64,P＜0.05).Conclusion:rESWT combined with microwave is more effective in the treatment of SP,which can effectively relieve pain and improve the mobility of shoulder joint in a short period of time.
