Clinical efficacy of mirror therapy on frozen shoulder
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of mirror therapy in the treatment of frozen shoulder. Methods:Ninety frozen shoulder patients who received outpatient treatment from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group with 45 cases in each group with a number table method. Both groups took diclofenac sodium dual release enteric-coated capsule orally once a day,one capsule each time, for 10 consecutive days, and took part in routine rehabilitation treatment for four weeks,40 minutes per session, once a day,5 days per week. The control group added shoulder mobilization surgery,20 minutes per session,5 days per week,10 sessions as one course of treatment, for two consecutive courses. The treatment group added mirror therapy, and trained once a day,5 days per week,10 times as a course of treatment, for 2 consecutive courses of treatment.Shoulder joint pain and range of motion before and after 1 and 2 courses of treatment for the patients were assessed. Results:Comparing to before treatment, shoulder joint pain in the two groups after 1 and 2 courses of treatment was reduced, and joint motion was improved in both groups(P<0.01).The effect in the treatment group was more significant after 2 courses of treatment(P<0.01).Conclusion:Applying mirror therapy in the treatment of frozen shoulder patients can increase the range of motion, improve the motor function of the shoulder joint, and reduce the patient's pain, which is a simple, safe, and low-cost treatment method, and worth promoting in community rehabilitation.
