The role of"three tailored measures"TCM nursing in pain relief in patients with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Objective:To analyze the role of"three tailored measures"traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing in pain relief in patients with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy(PDPN).Methods:Using the prospective study method,146 PDPN patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from January 2023 to April 2024 were selected and divided into the reference group and study group with 73 cases each. The reference group was given routine nursing, and the study group was given"three tailored measures"TCM nursing based on the reference group.Total pain relief rate, blood glucose index[fasting blood glucose(FPG),2 h postprandial blood glucose(PBG),Hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)],negative mood index[self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score,self-rating depression scale(SDS)score],pain degree[brief pain inventory for diabetic peripheral neuropathy(BPI-DPN)score],sleep quality[Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)score]and nursing satisfaction were compared before and after intervention. Results:The overall pain relief rate in the study group was 91.78%(67/73),which was higher than 73.97%(54/73)in the reference group(P<0.05).After nursing, the FPG,PBG and HbA1c levels in the study group were lower than those in the reference group(all P<0.05);the SAS scores,SDS,BPI-DPN,and PSQI scores in the study group were lower than those in the reference group(all P<0.05);the nursing satisfaction of patients in the study group was 93.15%(68/73),which was higher than 80.82%(59/73)in the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:"Three tailored measures"TCM nursing that intervenes PDPN can effectively relieve pain, reduce blood sugar level, improve negative emotions such as anxiety and depression, and improve the sleep quality and nursing satisfaction of the patients.
