Analysis of health knowledge awareness and influencing factors in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus
Objective:To analyze the health knowledge awareness and related factors in the patients with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods:One hundred and eighty-two patients with GDM admitted to Guangyuan First People's Hospital from May 2020 to May 2021 were selected as the study subjects, and the general data of all patients[age, gestational week, parity, education level, body mass index(BMI),family income, whether they were primiparas,GDM history, payment method, family diabetes history, blood glucose monitoring, etc.]were collected, the health knowledge of all patients was assessed with the self-designed health knowledge scoring scale of the hospital, and the related influencing factors of health knowledge of diabetes in the patients with GDM were analyzed by single factor and logistic multi factor analysis.Results:Eighty-three out of 182 GDM patients(45.60%)were aware of health knowledge, and an average score was(51.82±6.38)points;the health knowledge awareness in GDM patients were not affected by age, gestational age, parity,BMI,whether they were primiparas, employment status, and payment methods(P>0.05);but it might be related to educational level, physiological self-care ability, family function, comorbid underlying diseases, and health status(P<0.05).The results of unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that education level of high school and below, low family income,no history of GDM,no family history of diabetes, and no blood glucose monitoring were all risk factors affecting the health knowledge awareness in the GDM patients(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusion:Education level of high school and below, low family income,no GDM history,no family history of diabetes, and no blood glucose monitoring may affect the health knowledge awareness in the GDM patients,so clinical health education should be strengthened and corresponding measures should be taken to improve the health knowledge awareness in the GDM patients.
