Efficacy of sertraline combined with transcranial direct current stimulation in the treatment of adolescent depression with non-suicidal self-injurious behavior
Objective:To explore the efficacy of sertraline combined with transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS)in treating depression with non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI)in adolescents. Methods:Sixty adolescents with depression and NSSI were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group with 30 cases each. The control group was treated with sertraline, while the observation group with sertraline combined with tDCS.The Hamilton depression rating scale 17-item(HAMD-17),self-rating depression scale(SDS),adolescent non-suicidal self-injury behavior assessment questionnaire(ANSAQ),and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared before and after treatment. Results:The HAMD-17,SDS scores,ANSAQ behavior and function scores and total scores after 4 weeks of treatment were lower in the observation group than the control group and after treatment than before(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the incidence of adverse reactions(P>0.05).Conclusion:Sertraline combined with tDCS can effectively reduce depressive symptoms and ANSAQ scores in the adolescents and will not increase the incidence of adverse reactions.
