Effect of traditional Chinese medicine sachets in the intervention of tobacco dependence in security personnel
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine sachets in the intervention of tobacco dependence in security personnel. Methods:According to the random number table method,100 patients with tobacco dependence were divided into an intervention group with 50 cases and a control group with 50 cases. In the intervention group there were 46 males and 4 females;the average age was(35.95±5.73)years,and the average disease course was(3.71±1.69)years.In the control group there were 44 males and 6 females;the average age was(33.62±6.85)years,and the average disease course was(3.66±1.69)years.Both groups adopted health education, and the intervention group was given traditional Chinese medicine sachets on the basis of health education.Repeated smoking, the daily smoking volume, the Fagerstrom test of nicotine dependence(FTND),the Minnesota nicotine withdrawal symptom scale(MNWS),and the questionnaire on smoking urges-brief(QSU-Brief)were observed. Results:The total effective rate in the intervention group was 90.00%,which was significantly better than 66.00%in the control group(P<0.05).The daily smoking volume of patients in both groups decreased, and the intervention group was lower than the control group(P<0.01);the scores of the FTND scale, the MNWS scale, and the QSU-Brief scale all decreased significantly in both groups, and the intervention group was better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of traditional Chinese medicine sachets and comprehensive nursing intervention has a significant effect on patients with tobacco dependence, reduces the degree of nicotine dependence, reduces smoking cravings, and improves withdrawal symptoms, which helps to improve the smoking cessation rate and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
