Research on the luster of silk fabrics based on spectral characteristics and image processing
China is the world's largest producer and exporter of silk products,as well as a major consumer of silk products.Luster,as one of the main components of the visual style and appearance of silk products,is an important indicator for evaluating the appearance quality of silk fabrics.Therefore,the testing and evaluation of the luster of silk fabrics is of great significance for better style of products and enhancing the visual appearance of the fabrics.The evaluation methods for the luster of fabrics are mainly divided into subjective evaluation methods and instrumental testing methods.Subjective evaluation methods rely on human subjective perceptions with unstable consequences.The instrumental methods can only measure the luster of part surface of the fabrics.When the luster distribution of the fabrics is uneven,the test results are inaccurate.Comparison with other evaluation methods,there are many advantages on the technology of image processing.However,in most studies of luster evaluation based on image processing,the models established can only perform well for specific sample sets with poor generalization abilities.The reason is that the effective features of fabric luster images remain to be further studied in the construction of the key luster features of fabric images.In this paper,white,blue,black,pink and brown silk crepe satin plain fabrics were selected as samples,and the samples were washed by a programmable standard washing machine.The spectral data of the samples were collected by a spectrophotometer,and the subjective scores of the samples were obtained through visual experiments.Exploratory cluster analysis was carried out on the collected data set to obtain the structural characteristics of the data set,and correlation analysis and factor analysis were carried out to explore the influencing factors of the subjective evaluation of fabric luster.The results show that in the color space CIE L∗a∗b∗,a∗ and b∗ have a correlation of-0.45 with the subjective evaluation of samples,while the correlation between color brightness and subjective evaluation is low.In the general linear model analysis of the effects of a∗ and b∗,it is found that the change of fabric color significantly affects the subjective cores of fabric luster.The results of factor analysis show that the change of spectral reflectance of samples has the highest impact on the subjective score of fabric luster in the wavelength range of 530 nm to 560 nm.On this basis,the image analysis of fabric luster was carried out in this paper,and features such as non-uniformity,luster grade and highlight ratio of the image were constructed.These three features can better reflect the contrast characteristics of the highlights and background brightness of the fabric,and it is concluded that the contrast characteristics of the highlights and background brightness of the fabric are the key factors to evaluate the luster of the fabric based on image processing technology.In the human visual system,there is a phenomenon that enhances higher gray level and reduces lower gray level when human eyes are gazing at different grayscale edges.It is the high contrast between the bright spots and the background of silk fabrics that makes silk fabrics have a shiny luster.Compared with neural network or other integrated learning models,this method has more intuitive indexes,and is different from other fabric luster evaluation technologies based on image processing.It does not require learning and training on a specific sample set,so it will have a more promising application prospect.
