Stability analysis on spring support of axial compression column of CFRP
In order to analyze the influence of the stable bearing capacity of wound carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)axial compression members supported by spring hinges,an improved Perry—Robertson formula is proposed in this paper.To validate the correctness of the formula,ABAQUS is used to create the fi-nite element models of winding CFRP axial compression mem-bers of a literature.Comparing the calculation results of the for-mula and the experimental results,the formula is proved to be ef-fectiveness.The verified finite element model was used for analy-sis.Comparing the calculated results of the proposed formula,the experimental results and finite element analysis results,it is clear that the improved Perry—Robertson formula can predict the sta-ble bearing capacity of CFRP axial compression members sup-ported by spring hinges with minor error.
