Effects of Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Black Soldier Fly Peptide Powders Instead of Fish Meal in Different Proportions on Growth Performance,Serum Biochemistry and Intestinal Health of Soft-Shelled Turtles
The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of enzymatic hydrolysis of black sol-dier fly peptide powders instead of fish meal in different proportions on growth performance, serum biochem-istry and intestinal health of soft-shelled turtles.Eight ponds of soft-shelled turtles were selected for the experiment and randomly divided into four groups. Each group had two replicates(ponds),and 15 000 soft-shelled turtles were raised in each pond for a trial period of three months.Four groups were added with 0(control group),3%,6%,and 9%peptide powders groups(enzymatic hydrolysis of black soldier fly peptide powders were used in proportion to replace fish meal). The results showed as follows:compared with the con-trol group, the 3%,6%,and 9%peptide powders groups significantly increased the weight of 3-month-old soft-shelled turtles and significantly reduced the mortality(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the 3%,6%,and 9%peptide powders groups significantly increased blood glucose levels(P<0.05);the triglyceride levels of 6%and 9%peptide powders were significantly decreased(P<0.05);the calcium content in the serum of the 3%peptide powders group was significantly increased(P<0.05);the urea nitrogen level of the 9%peptide powders group was significantly reduced(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in total protein,glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase,glutamic-pyruvic transaminase and phosphorus among the groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in visceral mass weight, liver weight, hepatopancreatic index, viscerosomatic index, gut length ratio and relative intestine length among the groups(P>0.05).The villus height in the intestine of soft-shelled turtles showed a significant gradient increase with the increase of enzymatic hydrolysis of black soldier fly peptide powders in propor-tion to fish meal level(P<0.05);the crypt depth of the 6%and 9%peptide powders groups was significantly increased compared with the control group(P<0.05);the villus height/crypt depth in the 9%peptide pow-ders group was significantly increased(P<0.05).In conclusion, replacing fish meal with 3%,6%,and 9%enzymatic hydrolysis of black soldier fly peptide powders in the diet improve the growth performance of 3-month-old soft-shelled turtles, improve intestinal morphology and structure and have no adverse effects on serum biochemistry and health indicators. In addition, the treatment of 9%enzymatic hydrolysis of black soldier fly peptide powders has the best effect for the soft-shelled turtles.
