Application and Significance of 500kV Dry-Type Shunt Reactor Technology in Brazil
With the rapid development of Brazil's extra-high voltage(EHV)transmission network, there is an increasing demand for improving the performance and reliability of shunt reactors in the power grid. This study thoroughly investigates the introduction and application of 500kV dry-type shunt reactor technology in Brazil.By conducting a comprehensive analysis of Brazilian power grid technical standards, the research team developed specifications that align with local requirements, successfully overcoming challenges related to differences in standards and climate adaptability. The technology was first deployed at the Silvânia Substation. The findings demonstrate that the 500kV dry-type shunt reactor shows superior performance in loss reduction, noise suppression, and environmental resilience, significantly contributing to the stable operation of the Brazilian transmission network. This research not only provides a benchmark for the promotion of dry-type shunt reactor technology in emerging markets, but also offers valuable insights for the international application and standardization of Chinese power equipment technologies.
