Verification Study on Water Quality Indicators of Cooling Water in Large Generator
A dynamic simulation system was built in the laboratory based on the control process of internal cooling water for generator or condenser. The operating parameter indicators of the internal cooling water system were tested, divided into two water environments:poor oxygen environment and uncontrolled oxygen content. The specific requirements of water quality indicators for acceptance standards were discussed in combination with the potential vs pH diagram. The results indicate that dissolved oxygen is an important factor causing the corrosion of copper specimens in dynamic desalination water systems, and must be controlled as the primary factor. The dissolution of CO2 in the air can cause water acidification, significantly increasing the corrosion risk of hollow copper wires. The standard should make requirement for pH adjustment and dosing treatment devices. In addition, the unrestricted increase in pH value will bring about alkaline corrosion of Cu on the one hand, and threaten the safety of generator operation on the other hand. Therefore,an upper limit value must be set for pH value in the standard.
