Analysis of highway damage characteristics from 2022 Luding Ms6.8 earthquake
Based on the investigation of highway geological disasters along the Ms6.8 earthquake in Luding,Sichuan Province, the damage characteristics and distribution of highway network in the earthquake area were analyzed and studied.Through the investigation of the national and provincial trunk roads and county rural roads in the earthquake area,a total of 305 highway disasters were found. The types are mainly collapse and landslide, showing the characteristics of large quantity, small scale, and distributed in pieces. The disasters were mainly distributed along the highway near Dagangshan hydropower Station reservoir area, and some sections of the road were continuously inducing multiple collapse and landslide disaster groups, among which S217 line was the most densely distributed section.A total of 507 highway damage points were investigated, and it was found that the main form of damage was roadbed damage. The degree of damage was more than 67%of the total number of roadbed damage, which had little effect on bridges, tunnels and other structures.Bridges and tunnels can basically guarantee passage.By comparing with other earthquake-induced highway damage, the influence of topographic factors on earthquake-induced highway damage is summarized. The research results are helpful for local governments to carry out targeted disaster prevention and mitigation work along highways in earthquake areas.
