Objective To analyze and compare CT and MRI in the diagnosis of occult fractures of limb bones and joints. Methods Sixty patients with suspected occulted bone and joint fractures of limbs admitted to Dongda Hospital of Shanxian,Heze City,Shandong Province from January to December 2022 were simply and randomly selected as the study objects.CT and MRI were performed on them after admission, and surgical ex-amination results were used as the gold standard. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic coinci-dence rate of the two diagnostic techniques were compared in the diagnosis of occult fracture of limbs and joints. Results Gold standard diagnosis was positive in 57 cases, negative in 3 cases;CT diagnosis was positive in 51 cases, negative in 9 cases;MRI diagnosis was positive in 56 cases, negative in 4 cases. The diagnostic accuracy(98.33%),sensitivity(98.25%)and specificity(100.00%)of MRI were higher than those of CT(86.67%,87.72%and 66.67%),and the differences were statistically significant(χ2=9.219,9.327,9.348,all P<0.05).The coinci-dence rate of MRI diagnosis was higher than that of CT diagnosis, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Both CT and MRI have certain application value in the diagnosis of occult fractures of limb bones and joints.Compared with CT,three-dimensional reconstruction of MRI can provide more accurate diag-nostic results, with higher diagnostic sensitivity and specificity.
