Objective To explore the clinical effect of octreotide acetate combined with Wang's Baochi pill in the treatment of acute pancreatitis. Methods Sixty cases of acute pancreatitis patients treated in the Depart-ment of Gastroenterology of Funing County People's Hospital from January 2017 to November 2023 were ran-domly selected as the study subjects, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group by the coin-flip method, each with 30 cases. The control group was treated with octreotide acetate alone, and the observation group was treated with Wang's Baochi pill on the basis of the control group.Treatment effective-ness,adverse reactions and inflammatory status were compared between the two groups of patients. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 93.33%,higher than that of 73.33%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.320,P=0.038).The incidence rate of adverse drug reactions in the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The average of C-reactive protein, peripheral blood leukocyte count, and procalcitonin wa-ter in the observation group was lower than that of the control group after treatment, and the differences were sta-tistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Octreotide acetate+Wang's Baochi pill has a definite clinical ef-fect in the treatment of acute pancreatitis, which is helpful to improve the inflammatory state of the body, and has fewer adverse reactions, which can ensure the safe use of the drug for patients.
