Objective To discuss the effect of laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of gastrointestinal per-foration.Methods A total of seventy patients with gastrointestinal perforation admitted to Zhitang People's Hos-pital of Changshu City from September 2020 to March 2023 were selected randomly as the study objects. They were divided into:control group(n=35,traditional open surgery)and observation group(n=35,laparoscopic sur-gery)by random number table method. The relative indexes, postoperative pain, clinical efficacy and incidence of postoperative infection were compared between two groups. Results The intraoperative blood loss(24.50±5.51)mL,incision length(2.40±0.78)cm,postoperative exhaust time(23.11±1.43)h and hospital stay(3.70±0.35)d in the observation group were lower than those in the control group intraoperative blood loss(27.66±6.62)mL,incision length(10.90±1.15)cm,postoperative exhaust time(62.25±3.62)h and hospital stay(7.90±2.41)d,the differences were statistically significant(t=2.170,36.189,59.492,10.203,all P<0.05).The indexes of postoperative pain, clinical efficacy and incidence of postoperative infection in the observation group were better than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The use of laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of gastrointestinal perforation can achieve the goal of shortening the operation time, reducing the amount of intraoperative blood loss, helping to alleviate postoperative pain.
