Objective To study the value of Pushen capsule combined with metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with cervical atherosclerosis.Methods A total of 86 patients with type 2 diabe-tes mellitus complicated with carotid atherosclerosis admitted to Jingjiang People's Hospital from January 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the research objects and divided into two groups by random number table method,with 43 cases in each group.The control group was treated with metformin and aspirin enteric-coated tablets,and the observation group was treated with Pusshen capsule on the basis of the control group.The changes of glucose and lipid metabolism indexes,serum inflammatory response indexes and atherosclerosis in-dexes were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the indexes of glucose and lipid metabo-lism and serum inflammatory response in observation group were significantly better than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Carotid media thickness(0.86±0.27)mm,plaque area(14.97±1.29)mm2,and plaque number(1.07±0.16)in observation group were better than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant(t=3.874,8.112,19.767,all P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment effect of Pushen capsule combined with metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and neck atherosclerosis is ideal.
