Objective To investigate the clinical effect of supplementing kidney with traditional Chinese medicine on rheumatoid arthritis patients with secondary osteoporosis on the basis of Western medicine.Meth-ods A total of 58 patients with secondary osteoporosis caused by rheumatoid arthritis admitted to Zibo Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2021 to July 2023 were selected as the research objects.They were divided into two groups using the coin toss method,with 29 cases in each group.The control group was treated with D3 calcium carbonate tablets and salmon calcitonin injection.On the basis of the control group,the study group adopted traditional Chinese medicine supplementing kidney treatment.The total effective rate of treatment,improvement of symptoms and signs,erythrocyte sedimentation rate,blood calcium and bone mineral density between two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group(96.55%)was higher than that in the control group(72.41%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.735,P<0.05).The joint tenderness index,morning stiffness time,joint function index,joint swelling index,erythrocyte sedimentation rate,blood calcium,and bone density in the study group were all better than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with sec-ondary osteoporosis caused by rheumatoid arthritis can receive traditional Chinese medicine supplementing kid-ney treatment on the basis of Western medicine treatment,which can improve the therapeutic effect,improve symptoms and signs.
