Objective To investigate the effect of combination of antibiotics and Xiyanping injection on pa-tients with community acquired pneumonia(CAP).Methods A total of 90 patients with CAP admitted to Caox-ian People's Hospital from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected as study objects and divided into study group and control group according to random number table method,45 cases in each group.Patients in the study group were treated with Xiyanping injection and antibiotics,while the control group was treated with antibiotics only.The curative effect,the time of symptom and sign resolution,inflammatory indexes and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate in the study group(95.56%)was higher than that of the control group(80.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.075,P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the study group had shorter time for cough and rales to subside and fever to subside,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the study group had lower levels of procalcitonin and C-reactive protein,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).In the comparison of incidence of adverse reactions,there was no statistically significant difference be-tween two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Combined treatment with Xiyanping injection on the basis of antibiotics for CAP patients can effectively improve clinical efficacy,promote the recovery of symptoms and signs,and im-prove inflammatory indicators.
