Objective To analyze the effect of transparent cap assisted electronic gastroscopy in the treat-ment of esophageal foreign bodies.Methods Ninety-four patients with esophageal foreign bodies admitted to Bi-jie Jinsha County People's Hospital of Guizhou Province from May 2021 to May 2023 were selected as the re-search objects and divided into two groups according to random number table method,with forty-seven cases in each group.The foreign bodies in the control group were removed by electronic gastroscopy alone,and those in the observation group were removed by transparent cap assisted electronic gastroscopy.The success rate of for-eign body removal,time consumption of foreign body removal,treatment tolerance,and incidence of complica-tions were compared between the two groups.Results The success rate of foreign body removal in the observa-tion group was 95.74%,higher than that 82.98%in the control group,and the difference was statistically signifi-cant(χ2=4.029,P<0.05).The duration of foreign body removal was(13.31±2.59)min,shorter than that of the control group(17.58±3.25)min,and the difference was statistically significant(t=7.044,P<0.05).The treatment tolerance was better than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(Z=2.648,P<0.05).The complication rate was 6.38%,lower than that of the control group 21.28%,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.374,P<0.05).Conclusion Transparent cap assisted electronic gastroscopy can im-prove the success rate of foreign body removal,shorten the operation time,better patient tolerance,and fewer complications.
