Effect of Bone Cement with Different Viscosity on Bone Cement Dispersion after Perculaneous Vertebro Plasty in Porotic Vertebral Compression Fracture Patients
Objective To investigate the effect of different viscosity bone cement on the diffusion of osteo-porotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF)in patients undergoing percutaneous vertebro plasty(PVP).Methods Clinical data of 102 OVCF patients who underwent PVP treatment admitted to Shiyan People's Hospi-tal from October 2020 to November 2022 were retrospectively selected,and they were divided into control group(using low viscosity bone cement,n=51)and observation group(using high viscosity bone cement,n=51)accord-ing to different bone cement viscosity used during the operation.The level of lumbar function before surgery and 1 day,3 months and 6 months after surgery,and the diffusion and leakage of bone cement 3 months and 6 months after surgery were compared between the two groups.Results Compared with the preoperative results,the lumbar dysfunction scores of both groups decreased at 1 day,3 months and 6 months after surgery,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the lumbar dysfunction scores of the observation group were lower,and were higher than,and the diffusion volume and coefficient of bone cement 3 were higher than and 6 months after surgery,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.001).The bone cement leakage rate in the observation group(5.88%)was lower than that in the control group(19.61%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.320,P=0.038).Conclusion Different vis-cosity bone cement applied to OVCF patients undergoing PVP can improve the postoperative lumbar function,but high viscosity bone cement is more ideal in improving the diffusion volume of bone cement,promoting the re-covery of lumbar function,and reducing the postoperative bone cement leakage rate.
