Objective To analyze the effect of Shenmai Injection combined with low-dose glucocorticoste-roid on senile patients with severe pneumonia. Methods A total of ninety-six elderly severecase pneumonia pa-tients admitted to Caoxian People's Hospital from August 2022 to July 2023 were selected as the study objects the patients were divided into two groups with forty-eight patients in each group according to different treatment method. The control group was treated with low-dose glucocorticosteroid, and the study group was treated with Shenmai injection. The efficacy,C-reactive protein, procalcitonin levels and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The effective rate of the study treatment was 95.83%(46/48),higher than 81.25%(39/48)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.031,P<0.05).After 7 days of treatment, the levels of C-reactive protein and procalcitonin in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).There was no sig-nificant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Shenmai Injection combined with low-dose glucocorticosteroid in elderly severe pneumonia patients can achieve satis-factory clinical effect and reduce the level of inflammatory factors, which has clinical application value.
