Effect of Intrauterine Balloon Placement and Compression on the Prevention of Postpartum Hemorrhage during Cesarean Section and on the Occurrence of Postpartum Complications
Objective To analyze and evaluate the effect of intrauterine balloon placement and compres-sion on the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage and the occurrence of postpartum and complications during ce-sarean section. Methods Seventy patients with cesarean section admitted to Bijie Hezhang County People's Hospital from January 2019 to December 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into control group and observation group according to different ways of hemostasis, with thirty-five cases in each group.Dur-ing the operation, the control group was treated with gauze packing and the observation group was treated with intrauterine balloon placement. The blood loss at 2 h and 24 h after delivery, the incidence of postpartum infec-tion and other complications were compared between the two groups. Results The postpartum blood loss of the observation group was(300.07±15.04)mL and(460.18±23.04)mL at 2 h and 24 h,respectively, less than that of the control group(548.15±23.16)mL and(812.17±50.29)mL,and the difference was statistically significant(t=9.357,8.548,both P<0.05).The incidence of complications(0)in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(22.86%)(8/35),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The appli-cation of intrauterine balloon compression in the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage during cesarean section is significant, and can effectively reduce the incidence of postpartum complications.
