Study on geological features of Majia uranium deposit in Guangxi province
Majia uranium deposit in Guangxi is a granite type uranium deposit founded in the new round of uranium geologic exploration. The deposit is hosted in the Caledonian pluton, which is different from other uranium deposits in the area and indicate the uranium prospecting breakthrough in the Caledonian pluton. To summarize the characteristics of this kind of deposit, the author analyzed the uranium metallogenic geological characteristics in the host rock,ore-controlling structure,wall-rock alteration and uranium mineralization and had came to the following conclusions:there are abundant uranium sources in the area, and Caledonian granite acted as the uranium producing pluton. The NNE trending fault in the area is large in scale and derived rich secondary structure which controlled the uranium ore body strictly as by F2709,F2715,F2719 ore-bearing fault zone, hydrothermal alterations are strongly developed as hematitization, carbonatization, silication,K feldsparization and fluoritization, which are closely related to the uranium mineralization. It is believed that uranium deposits is mainly controlled by U-rich granite, faults and hydrothermal alterations. The next exploration should be oriented in finding the same type uranium deposit in Miaoershan and Yuechengling plutons, and continue to explore along F2709,F2715,F2719 ore-bearing fault zone, and strengthen the exploration in the depth for large and rich uranium ore bodies.
