Efficacy and application of DataMine-based automated grade control model software:A case study of Husab uranium mine in Namibia
The ore body of Husab uranium mine is complex in Namibia, with common branching and recombination. The boundary between the ore and rock is unclear, and the mining production relies heavily on grade control models. The construction steps of grade control models are complex and time-consuming,often restricting the normal operation of mining production. In view of the ore body and engineering characteristics of Husab uranium mine,it is imperative to develop a plug-in for automatically building a grade control model using JavaScript language on the DataMine mining software platform.According to the established modeling technology process and evaluation parameter, the plug-in calls DataMine internal functions to complete all workflows such as basic data import, drilling combination,outline-grade processing, sample and other long combination with one click. At the same time, the plug-in successfully developed the function of dividing the mineralization domain by the nearest distance method, replacing the traditional step of manually delineating the ore body, and realizing the automatic retrieval of estimation parameters to construct the grade control model. The plug-in not only simplifies the modeling steps, significantly shortens the modeling time, but also matches the actual situation and operating habits of the daily production of the mine, and meets the production demands through production inspection.
