Empowering Digital Transformation of Enterprises in Pilot Free Trade Zones:Theoretical Logic and Practical Path
As a comprehensive test platform for reform and opening up,the pilot free trade zone provides a superior policy environment,industrial environment and market environment for the digital transformation of enterprises,and the summary and promotion of en-terprise digital transformation experience is of great significance for narrowing the economic gap between regions.With the help of the multi-period difference-in-difference model,this paper examines the policy effect and influencing mechanism of the pilot free trade zone on the digital transformation of enterprises from two aspects,theoretical logic and empirical evidence.The results show that the pilot free trade zone has significantly promoted the digital transformation of enterprises.The mechanism test shows that the pilot free trade zone mainly empowers the digital transformation of enterprises through mechanisms such as information transmis-sion,risk response and condition creation.The heterogeneity analysis shows that the policy-driven effect of the pilot free trade zone is more significant in the enterprises of digital and real industry technology integration,enterprises in the field of industrial digitalization and OFDI enterprises.Further analysis shows that enterprise digitalization also has a synergistic effect from the in-dustrial chain,but this synergistic effect will decrease with the increase of the digital gap between affiliated enterprises.The con-clusions of this paper provide a theoretical and empirical basis for local governments to help local enterprises successfully achieve digital transformation.
