Establishment of Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Area,Data Element Enabling Effect and Green Transformation of Enterprises
The National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot area can effectively promote the agglomeration,sharing,circulation and application of da-ta resources,generate a data element empowerment effect,and thereby provide important help for the green transformation and develop-ment of enterprises.Based on panel data of A-share listed companies,this paper examines the impact of establishing a big data compre-hensive pilot area on the green transformation of enterprises from the perspective of data element empowerment.The research shows that the establishment of a big data comprehensive pilot area has significantly promoted the green transformation and development of enterpri-ses,and the conclusion remains valid after a series of robustness tests.In terms of heterogeneity,the big data pilot area plays a more sig-nificant role in promoting the green transformation of non-foreign-funded enterprises,small-scale enterprises and non-high-tech enterprises.The impact is more pronounced in labor-intensive,capital intensive industries and heavy polluting industries.Green technology innova-tion,green allocation of resource elements and external supervision of enterprises are the main transmission mechanisms to accelerate the green transformation of enterprises.The expansion analysis found that the establishment of the big data comprehensive pilot area drove the green transformation of enterprises in economically neighboring areas.In addition,compared to upstream suppliers in the supply chain,the green transformation of enterprises in the pilot area has a more significant positive spillover effect on downstream customers.This study provides a useful reference for promoting the green and low-carbon development of enterprises and achieving high-quality and sustainable eco-nomic growth.
