The urban revitalisation of Hiroshima City in post-war Japan has made great achievements,and Kenzo Tange's architectural practice has had a great influence on the process of urban revitalisation in Hiroshima City.At this stage,relevant studies have not explored the post-disaster revitalisation planning scheme of Hiroshima proposed by Kenzo Tange in greater depth.Therefore,this paper discusses and examines the land use planning proposed by Kenzo Tange in relative details by analysing literature and survey data.First,the process of formulating Hiroshima's urban revitalisation plan is sorted out.Second,the connection between the postwar Hiroshima city revitalisation plan and Kenzo Tange is sorted out and explored.Finally,it discusses the role of Kenzo Tange in land use control.This study is important for the correct and objective evaluation of the roles and responsibilities of Japanese architects and planners in the process of urban planning.
