In the era of urban renewal,traditional urban planning,construction and governance mechanisms need to change.Faced with the complex interests of multiple stakeholders,new urban renewal models are needed to keep long-term sustainable development with less capital investment.Comparing"symbiosis theory"with the logic of urban renewal,this paper proposes the basic concept of symbiotic urban renewal and its four characteristics.It also proposes specific strategies for symbiotic urban renewal in four steps,and shows how to use these specific strategies in the comprehensive renewal practice of Shiquan Street in Suzhou.
