The Italian Renaissance was manifested in literature,mathematics,painting,architecture,and other facets.Architects during this era often held multiple roles,such as painters and sculptors.Their artistic enlightenment was rooted in painting education,and the related theories and artistic characteristics were frequently reflected in architectural design.Bramante is well known as an architect who pushed the Italian Renaissance into its heyday,yet his status as a painter is often neglected.This paper explores the influence of Renaissance painting education on architectural design using Bramante as an example.
