As the most potential and valuable alternative products for chemical pesticides, microbial pesticides have broad prospects for development and application. However, when microbial pesticides enter the environment, they not only act on the target organisms, but also have potential risks to environmental non-target organisms and human. In view of the urgent needs of environmental safety management of microbial pesticides in China,a standard system for environmental risk assessment of microbial pesticides covering environmental toxicity assessment, environmental proliferation evaluation and environmental risk assessment was established, which was taking risk control as the guiding ideology, and based on the research of standard method. The standard system filled the gap in technical standards for environmental risk management of microbial pesticides in China. It is of great significance to prevent and control the environmental risks of microbial pesticides, protect the ecological environment and promote the healthy development of microbial pesticide industry.
