In order to screen out effective agents for preventing and controlling Solidago canadensis,in 2023,during the seedling stage of S.canadensis, six chemical herbicides were selected for control tests.Symptoms of phytotoxicity were observed at 7,27,42,55,and 180 days after treatment, and control effects were investigated at 42 and 180 days after treatment. The results showed that among the six herbicides tested,triclopyr-butoxyethyl ester 667 g/L EC had the best control effect on S.canadensis, showing that the aboveground part and underground root system were basically withered, with a long duration of efficacy and no new seedlings germinated. The plant control effects at 42 and 180 days after treatment reached 98.0%and 96.9%respectively.It can be recommended as a substitute agent for effectively controlling S.canadensis.The mixed treatment of glyphosate-isopropylammonium 33%AS+fluroxypyr-mepthyl 20%EC performed well in the early stage, but a certain number of new seedlings will be born in the later stage. For other treatments, the root mortality rate is not high, and there are more new seedlings germinating in the later stage.
