Research progress on use of biomass fuels for iron ore sintering
Biomass fuel has a good application prospect due to such advantages as wide sources, huge reserves, high calorific value, high purity and low cost, and its application in sintering production is also one of the important ways for low-carbon,green and high-quality development of the iron and steel industry. The application of biomass fuel during the iron ore sintering process is systematically summarized and analyzed from such three aspects as raw material granulation, sintering process and fume emission reduction. In terms of raw material granulation, compared with breeze and anthracite, biomass fuel needs to be mixed with greater moisture mass fraction during sintering production, and the moisture distribution ratio may need to be increased by 1%~5%according to the type of biomass fuel.In terms of sintering process, limited by combustion characteristics, the proportion of biomass fuel replacing breeze should not be too high, generally 10%~40%and further increasing the ratio will lead to a significant reduction in the sinter yield and drum index and sintering machine utilization coefficient. In terms of fume emission reduction, biomass fuel plays a significant role in reducing the emission of harmful pollutants such as CO,NOx,SOx,dust and dioxin in sintering fume. For large-scale industrial applications,it is still necessary to continue to deepen theoretical and experimental exploration, further improve the availability of biomass fuel, coordinate the supporting industries of biomass fuel recycling, processing and treatment, and increase policy support, including investment incentives.
