Optimization of granulation and sintering performance of high-ratio magnet concentrate
In view of such problems as poor granulation effect, low quality of sintering ores and high solid fuel consumption when sintering a high-ratio magnetite concentrate(85%of mixed ore)in an inland steel mill,in order to determine the direction of the next engineering technological transformation,a systematic laboratory sintering cup test is carried out to reveal the sintering characteristics of high-ratio magnet concentrate, and to explore the influence rule of such factors as concentrate pre-wetting,quicklime dosage, magnet concentrate ratio, alkalinity, and material layer height on the sintering performance and metallurgical performance of the finished ore.The results show that the pre-wetting technology of concentrate and the addition of an appropriate amount of quicklime can promote the high-ratio iron concentrate granulation of synergistic strengthening, under the same granulation moisture conditions, the initial moisture of the mixed iron concentrate is pre-wetted from 3.0%to 7.8%,and 5.5%quicklime is added at the same time, and the air permeability index(JPU)of the granulated mixture is greatly increased from 14.1 to 41.7.On the premise that the air permeability of the mixture is guaranteed, further increasing the alkalinity and layer height can significantly improve the specification of sintering ores, and the metallurgical performance indexes of sinter can meet the requirements of blast furnace smelting. The results will provide important theoretical basis and technical guidance for on-site technical transformation and production.
