Practice of increasing proportion of non-primary ore and economic ore in sintering
At present, the quality of primary imported iron ore significantly declined, with the main component such as Al2O3 showing an upward trend. It is necessary to use the iron ores with the medium-silicon and low-aluminum to reduce the Al2O3 content in blast furnace slag.It is important to reduce the cost and improve the efficiency in the ironmaking process according to decrease the proportion of primary iron ores and seek the non-primary and cost-effective ores.Based on enhanced sourcing efforts in the iron ore market,an integrated optimization blending system was adopted to optimize the sintering, pelletizing, and blast furnace burden structure at Ma'anshan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd..This optimization increased the proportion of non-primary and cost-effective ores in south zone and north zone of Ma'anshan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd.from 16.0%and 9.0%to 30.0%and 24.0%,respectively,resulting in a significant reduction in hot metal costs.
