Effect of alkalinity on the properties and drying characteristics of green pellets under different ore blending structures
The particle size and SiO2 content of the raw materials for Ezhou pellet production fluctuate greatly with changes in the type of purchased ore and adjustments to the blending scheme.When producing alkaline pellets,it is necessary to consider the impact of blending structure on pellet performance.In response to the above issues,this study focuses on five types of materials used in the production of Ezhou pellets.By changing the ratio of pelletizing raw materials and the amount of flux ore added,adjusting the structure and alkalinity of raw materials,the influence of alkalinity on the performance and drying characteristics of green pellets under different ore blending structures is investigated.The results showed that when the proportion of MUSA concentrate was 50%,the performance of the green balls was better.When limestone,active ash,and small stone particles were used as fluxes under the condition of alkalinity of 0.8,the falling strength of the green balls for the three alkalinity was 6.9,6.4,and 5.9 times/(0.5 m),the compressive strength was 23.5,26.0,and 23.2 N/P,when the drying time was 10 min,the alkaline pellet of each scheme was dried and the drying rate was sightly slower them that of the nature alkaline pellet(about 8 minutes).
