The Rise,Practice and Decline of the New Left in Peru
The New Left in Peru has demonstrated remarkable historical resilience and diversity throughout its development, and has contributed unique theoretical perspectives and valuable practical experiences to the country's social progress and ideological development, which has deepened the localized interpretation of socialist thought in the country.Since its rise in the early 1960s,the New Left in Peru has gone through two stages of development, radical and democratic, and has made certain achievements in the political field. However,in 1989,under both the internal and external pressures,it eventually declined. The primary reasons for its decline lie in its inability to reconcile factional conflicts, the dissolution of the popular support system and a decrease in trust due to ineffective governance, all of which led to structural deficiencies within the organization.Meanwhile, the impact of neoliberalism and the disintegration of the socialist camp further accelerated its decline.
