Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of Huolong Moxibustion on cold dampness blocked shoulder periarthritis and its impact on sleep quality. Methods:From January 2022 to December 2022,50 patients with cold dampness blocked type periarthritis of the shoulder in our hospital were included in the study. They were randomly divided into a control group and an ob-servation group, with 25 patients in each group. The patients in the control group received routine treatment such as avoiding cold, shoulder joint rehabilitation training, oral ibuprofen, etc. The observation group added Huolong Moxibustion on the basis of the treatment scheme in the control group, and both groups received 14 days of treatment. The clinical efficacy,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score,Constant-Murley score,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and peripheral serum Prostaglandin E2(PGE2)and substance P(SP)levels were compared. Results:The total clinical effective rate of the control group was 56%,while the total clinical effective rate of the observation group was 88%.There was a statistically significant difference in the total clinical effective rate between the two groups(P<0.05).The VAS score and PSQI of the two groups of patients decreased after treatment, and the VAS score and PSQI of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group after treatment, with a statis-tically significant difference(Ps<0.05).The Constant-Murley score of both groups of patients increased after treatment. After treatment, the Constant-Murley score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, with a statisti-cally significant difference(Ps<0.05).After treatment, the levels of PGE2 and SP in both groups decreased significantly, with the observation group showing a significant downward trend compared to the control group, with a statistically significant difference(Ps<0.05).Conclusion:Huolong moxibustion has an ideal therapeutic effect on cold dampness blocked type shoulder periar-thritis,which can significantly improve the sleep quality of patients, which may be related to inhibiting the release of pain media-tors.
