Objective:To analyze the effects of topiramate combined with carbamazepine on sleep disorders, nerve damage, and e-lectroencephalogram in children with epilepsy. Methods:A total of 96 children with epilepsy admitted to the First H lospital of Pu-tian City,Fujian Province, from February to December 2023,were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into control and observation groups using a random number table method, with 48 cases in each group. The control group was trea-ted with topiramate, while the observation group was treated with a combination of azepine based on the control group.Use the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)to compare the changes in sleep quality before and after intervention between two groups of patients, compare the changes in serum neurokinin levels before and after intervention between the two groups of patients, and compare the EEG parameters of the two groups of patients. Results:After treatment, the levels of serum neuropeptide Y,glial fi-brillary acidic protein, and brain-derived neurotrophic factor in both groups of patients decreased, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, observe the electroencephalogram parameters,A-wave β Wave θ The wave number was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the PSQI score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The clinical application of topiramate combined with carbamazepine in treating epilepsy in children can effectively reduce neurological damage-related indicators, improve EEG parameters, and enhance sleep quality. It is worth promoting and applying in clinical practice.
