Objective:To analyze the impact of developmental care behavior combined with risk nursing on the sleep quality of newborns with jaundice. Methods:A total of 94 newborns with jaundice admitted to Shishi General Hospital from April 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the study subjects.Using a random number table method, they were randomly divided into an observa-tion group and a control group, with 47 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the ob-servation group received developmental care behavior combined with intensified risk nursing intervention.Evaluate the sleep quali-ty of two groups of children and observe the number of nighttime awakenings, average daily sleep time, and longest continuous sleep time at night.Count the duration of jaundice, first defecation time, and daily defecation frequency during the treatment process of the two groups of children, compare the metabolic levels of the two groups of children, and count the total protein, serum albumin, and total bilirubin/albumin ratio in serum.Count and compare the jaundice index and serum bilirubin levels of the two groups of children before nursing and 3,5,and 7 days after nursing. Results:After intervention, the number of nocturnal awaken-ings in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the average daily sleep time and the longest continuous sleep time at night were longer than those in the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The duration of jaundice and the first bowel movement time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, with more daily bowel movements than in the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(both P<0.05).After the nursing intervention, the total serum protein, serum albumin, and serum total bilirubin/albumin ratio in the observation group were significantly lower than in the control group(all P<0.05).After the nursing intervention, the jaundice index in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion:Behavioral nursing combined with intensified risk nursing under developmental care can improve the sleep quality of newborns with jaundice, rapidly alleviate jaundice symptoms, improve metabolic levels, and accelerate the recovery process. It is worthy of clinical promotion and applica-tion.
