Effect of Pediatric Massage Combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Fumigating Nasal Formula on the Efficacy and Sleep Quality of Children with Adenoid Hypertrophy
Objective:To observe the effect of pediatric massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine nasal fumigation on the efficacy and sleep quality of children with adenoid hypertrophy.Methods:A total of 72 children with adenoid hypertrophy ad-mitted to department of pediatrics,Fuzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital,Fujian province from May 2022 to May 2023 were enrolled as the research subjects and divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method,with 36 cases in each group.Both groups received conventional western medicine treatment,with the control group treated with traditional Chinese medicine nasal fumigation and the observation group treated with traditional Chinese medicine nasal fumi-gation combined with pediatric massage.The total effective rate of treatment was calculated for both groups,and the traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores,sleep quality scores(PSQI),and quality of life scores(OAS-18)were evaluated before and af-ter treatment in both groups.Results:The total effective rate in the control group was 72.20％,and the total effective rate in the observation group was 94.43％(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores for traditional Chinese medicine symptoms,PSQI,and OSA-18 decreased in both groups,with the observation group having lower scores than the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Pediatric massage combined with traditional Chinese medicine nasal fumigation has ideal clinical effects in the treatment of chil-dren with adenoid hypertrophy,significantly reducing traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores and improving sleep quality and quality of life.
