Objective:To know the effect of MECT in the treatment of depression complicated with sleep disorder.Methods:A to-tal of 68 patients with depression combined with sleep disorder admitted to Quanzhou Third Hospital from June 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into study group(n=34)and control group(n=34)by random number table method.The control group accepted antidepressants,the study group received antidepressants and MECT.Depressive symptoms,suicidal ideation,sleep quality,serum MT and BDNF were compared after treatment.Depression symptom was evaluated using HAMD-24,suicidal ideation was evaluated using SIOSS,and sleep quality was evaluated using PSQI.Results:After 8 w,the HAMD and SIOSS scores of study group were lower than those of control group,PSQI and incidence of sleep disorder were also lower,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The serum MT and BDNF of study group after 8 w were significantly higher than those of control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:MECT can effectively improve depressive symptoms,alleviate suicidal ideation and sleep disorder in patients with depression complicated with sleep disorder.
