Observation of the Application Effect of Interventions Based on Watson's Theory of Human Care on Patients with Severe Pneumonia Complicated with Respiratory Failure
Objective:To observe the application effect of interventions based on Watson's theory of human care on patients with severe pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure.Methods:A total of 94 patients with severe pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure admitted to the Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine Department of Quanzhou First Hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 47 cases in each group,using a random number table method.The control group received routine nursing intervention,while the observation group received Watson's theory of human care intervention on the basis of the control group.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was used to compare the changes in sleep quality between two groups of patients before and after interven-tion.The Asens Insomnia Scale(AIS)was used to evaluate the improvement effect of insomnia in both groups of patients before and after intervention.The recovery status was evaluated based on the respiratory distress relief time,mechanical ventilation time,and intensive care unit hospitalization time of the two groups of patients after nursing.Results:After intervention,the PSQI score and AIS score of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group.The observation group had signifi-cantly shorter respiratory distress relief time,mechanical ventilation time,and intensive care unit hospitalization time than the con-trol group,and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The application of nursing interventions based on Watson's theory of human care in patients with severe pneumonia and respiratory failure can effec-tively improve their sleep quality,promote disease recovery,and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
