A Study on the Improvement of Sleep Quality in Children with Epilepsy by Video EEG Monitoring through the Combination of Quality Control Circle and Interactive Health Education Model
Objective:To explore the role of the quality control circle combined with interactive health education model in the nursing of children with epilepsy monitored by video EEG.Methods:Seventy children with epilepsy monitored by video electroen-cephalography admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from March 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the research subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 35 cases in each group,u-sing a random number table method.The control group received routine nursing intervention,while the observation group received nursing intervention using the quality control circle combined with interactive health education model.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quali-ty Index(PSQI)was used to compare the differences in sleep quality between two groups of children before and after interven-tion.The changes in central electrical,body movement,and static electrical artifacts during the testing process were compared be-tween the two groups of children.The number of nighttime awakenings and nursing compliance of the two groups of children were also compared.Results:After intervention,the PSQI score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group,the incidence of monitoring artifacts in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group,the num-ber of nighttime awakenings in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group,and the nursing compli-ance of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Implementing a quality control circle combined with interactive health education model in the nursing of children with epilepsy monitored by video EEG can effectively improve the sleep quality of children,in-crease monitoring efficiency,enhance monitoring compliance,and reduce the number of nighttime awakenings.It is worth promo-ting and applying in clinical practice.
