Objective:To explore the role of a combination of touch and white noise in improving neonatal nervous system devel-opment and prolonging sleep duration.Methods:Eighty newborns born in the obstetrics department of our hospital from December 2022 to December 2023 were divided into two groups by segmented random method(two groups,each with 40 cases).The control group received routine care,while the observation group received touch care and white noise therapy.Neurological behavior[New-born Neurobehavioral Scale(NBNA)],Sleep quality(crying frequency and duration),Sleep time,Sleep quality rate(self-made survey form)were compared item by item between the two groups.Results:Compared with the control group,the observation group had a higher NBNA score(P<0.05),fewer crying times(P<0.05),shorter crying duration(P<0.05),and longer sleep time(P<0.05).Compared to the control group,the observation group had a higher sleep quality rate(95.00%)(P<0.05).Conclu-sion:By providing touch care and white noise therapy intervention to newborns,their neurological behavior can be significantly im-proved and their sleep quality can be improved.
