Objective:To explore the role of AIDET communication combined with Newman nursing model in improving postoper-ative coping styles and sleep quality in patients undergoing general surgery.Methods:A total of 70 patients who underwent surgi-cal treatment in the general surgery department of our hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected and divided into two groups using a segmented random sampling method(2 groups,each with 35 cases).The control group received routine care,while the observation group received AIDET communication and Newman nursing mode.Compared Coping style[Medical Coping Questionnaire(MCMQ)],Sleep quality[Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)]between the two groups.Results:Compared with the control group,the observation group had a higher face to face score after intervention(P＜0.05),and lower scores for avoid-ance,submission,and PSQI(P＜0.05).Conclusion:AIDET communication and Newman nursing intervention can significantly improve coping strategies and sleep quality in patients undergoing general surgery.
